EV charging in Rwanda, answered

Pulse is built in Kigali. We started with Rwanda and are connecting charging networks across East Africa and the rest of Africa, so drivers always know where they can charge.

Where can I charge an electric car in Kigali?

Open the Pulse map or the Pulse app to see EV charging stations across Kigali — at hotels, malls, offices, fuel stations and public sites. Tap a station to see its connectors, charging speed, price and opening hours, then get directions.

How much does EV charging cost in Rwanda?

Each charging operator sets its own price, usually per kWh in Rwandan francs (RWF). Pulse shows the price on every station where the operator shares it, so you can compare before you drive there.

Which EV charging connectors are used in Rwanda?

Type 2 is common for AC charging, while CCS2 and GB/T are common for DC fast charging, with CHAdeMO at some sites. Tell Pulse which plugs your car supports and stations that do not fit are hidden from the map.

Can I plan a road trip, like Kigali to Musanze or Rubavu?

Yes. Enter a start and a destination and Pulse shows the chargers along your route. You can save the plan, or pick a popular route other drivers have already planned.

Is the Pulse app free?

Yes. Pulse is free to download on the App Store and Google Play, and the charger map is free to use in your browser at pulsemap.app/map.

Does Pulse work outside Rwanda?

Pulse is built in Kigali and starts with Rwanda. Coverage is growing across East Africa and the rest of Africa as more charging networks connect to Pulse.

I run EV chargers. How do I get them on Pulse?
